GSAM Names Pension Strategist
November 2, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Michael Moran has joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) as a pension strategist.
Moran will continue his thought leadership initiatives in areas such as plan funded status, contribution activity, and dynamic asset allocation. He will also be available to work with clients on issues specific to their defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
According to a press release, Moran joins the firm from Goldman Sachs Global Markets Institute in the Global Investment Research Division. In his most recent role he advised corporate, government, and investment clients on a wide range of issues related to capital markets, financial reporting, valuation, asset allocation, and regulatory matters. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a CPA for Ernst & Young LLP.
Moran is a CFA charter holder and he earned an MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business as well as a BS in accounting from Villanova University.
