Hartford Introduces New Funds

November 1, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Five new bond funds have been introduced by Hartford Mutual Funds, sponsored by The Hartford Financial Services.

The new inventory includes the Hartford Inflation Plus Fund, investing in Government Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS).

TIPS were introduced by the US Government in 1997, paying original principal plus an adjustment for inflation, calculated using the non-seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers (CPI-U), upon maturity.

The four other new funds are:

  • The Hartford Income Fund
  • The Hartford Short Duration Fund
  • The Hartford Tax-Free California Fund
  • The Hartford Tax-Free New York Fund

Hartford now has an inventory of 33 mutual funds.
