Hartford to Track Absent Client Workers

April 8, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Large workers' compensation and disability insurance clients of The Hartford Financial Services Group can now take advantage of the company's employee-absence tracking system, which includes family and medical leave.

The Hartford product tracks employees absent because of workers’ compensation claims, disability, and time away under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The company said keeping track of workers not in the office for a variety of reasons may help increase worker productivity and reduce costs.

FMLA administration also is available with The Hartford’s short-term and long-term disability programs for companies opting against including   workers’ compensation coverage. The company said it provides FMLA absence coordinators who administer federal, state and employer-specific leaves, and capture the data needed to track leave status and understand the causes of worker absences.
