Health Diagnostic Product Linked to Patient Education
According to a news release, the new product grows out of a partnership between WellCall and TRALE. The announcement said the TRALE Backpack is a health-assessment tool that generates, personalized risk-assessment reports on a person’s cardiac risk, weight risk, nutrition risk, stress risk, tobacco risk, age-specific risks and gender-specific risks. Corporate benefit managers could use it at company health fairs or during open enrollment, the companies said.
Made aware of their medical condition, participants are then routed to a menu of personalized treatment options provided by WellCall – early intervention health management programs and services provided by personal coaches over the phone, or made available onsite or via a Web site.
Once at-risk behaviors or conditions are identified, individuals are directed to a corresponding WellCall program. WellCall coaches provide assistance with:
- weight management
- smoking cessation
- pre- and postnatal care
- chronic conditions such as asthma, back pain, diabetes
- stress management
- complementary care such as yoga, massage, acupuncture
- exercise and fitness
- generic drug counseling.
Companies then have secure access to immediate aggregate and executive summary reports providing snapshots of workforce well being. WellPath also provides secure Web-enabled health risk assessments that give the participant a personal risk evaluation and an individual wellness portal that provides a variety of health-related information. Data from the TRALE BackPack and TRALE’s online assessments can be integrated and combined in all reports.
After developing a personalized wellness plan, WellCall coaches identify the best program for each individual participant, and make referrals tailored to their specific needs and circumstances when appropriate.
