Home Depot Launches Hispanic Recruitment Drive

February 15, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Home Depot has announced a partnership with four Hispanic organizations with the goal of recruiting more Spanish-speaking employees.

Accord to a news release from the company, the plan is designed to attract more bilingual job candidates – with Spanish as one of the languages – for full- and part-time positions.

The four national groups are The ASPIRA Association, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), National Council of La Raza (NCLR), and SER – Jobs for Progress National.

The hiring theme will be “Unidos podemos/United we can,” and will aim to tap into what is increasingly considered a valuable customer niche. By 2008, according to Home Depot, Hispanics will have $1 trillion in purchasing power.
