Illinois Vendor Unveils Invoice Confirmation Tool

April 14, 2004 ( - Benefit Express, an HR and benefits administration outsourcer, unveiled its newest offering the helps clients avoid overpaying vendors because of erroneous insurance services bills.

The Oak Brook, Illinois-based Benefit Express or employer personnel can run the My Premium Accountant program in order to match actual enrollment and coverage with the vendors’ paper bills, a ccording to a news release. The module calculates who should be on the bill, who should not, and how much the premium should be.

If covered employees are missing from the bill, the program classifies them as pending for inclusion on the next bill and analyzes whether the company owes a retroactive premium. This automated premium module can also include line items that are not premium-related – for example, service charges and other add-ons

Available as a stand alone product or as a unit within other Benefit Express modules, My Premium Accountant is customizable so anyone can run the views and reports to match the format of the vendors’ bills.

The announcement said many companies don’t have the technology, staff or experience to adequately monitor vendors’ bills from multiple providers. This issue is especially acute because vendor rules and formats are disparate and complex, with rules and premiums varying by job category, tenure and employee within the company, the announcement said.
