ING Appoints Nijssen Head of Global Pensions
The move, effective July 1, will make Nijssen responsible for the development and coordination of ING’s global pension strategy. Nijssen, currently chairman of the Management Committee of ING Central Europe, will remain a member of the ING Europe’s Executive Committee and will become a member of the Executive Committees of ING Americas and ING Asia/Pacific, according to a news release.
Tasks of the new position for Nijssen will be to initiate, support, and expand local pension activities, to leverage global opportunities, and to utilize and export proven pension business models. Nijssen will report to Fred Hubbell.
Eli Leenaars, currently head of Retail Financial Services for ING South West Europe, will succeed Nijssen as chairman of the Management Committee Central Europe and be appointed a member of the Executive Committee ING Europe as of September 1. Jan op de Beeck, currently chairman of the Country Management Committee ING Romania, will be proposed as the successor of Eli Leenaars.
