Insurer Offers Small Business Cafeteria-Style Health Plan

November 27, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A Green Bay, Wisconsin company is offering small company employers a cafeteria-style health-care plan.

According to a news media release from American Medical Security Group, Inc. (AMS), the plan allows benefits managers to select a core benefit list for all workers, but also permits the employees to add or subtract unnecessary coverage.

AMS said the plan guarantees the enrollment eligibility of employees, prevents coverage lapses, and has tax advantages for the employer.

AMS said the group insurance product has been rolled out in 26 states during the past 12 months.

American Medical Security Group, through its operating subsidiaries, markets health care benefits and insurance products to small businesses, families and individuals.
