Jensen Investment Management Launches Value Fund

March 31, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Jensen Investment Management, investment adviser to The Jensen Portfolio (JENSX) mutual fund, has launched its second mutual fund, the Jensen Value Fund.

According to a press release, the Jensen Value Fund employs a value investment strategy with stocks selected from Jensen’s current universe of companies.

The investment strategy underlying the new Jensen Value Fund applies various quantitative factors on a quarterly basis to a select universe of U.S. companies each with a minimum market capitalization of $1 billion. Emphasis is placed most heavily on business fundamentals and valuations, and not on technical characteristics or stock price momentum, the announcement said.

The fund invests in those common stocks ranked by this multi-factor quantitative process that are within the top third of the identified universe of stocks. The Jensen Value Fund’s investment discipline includes selling companies that fall from the highest ranking third of this stock universe.

Retail shares (JNVSX) and Institutional shares (JNVIX) of the new Jensen Value Fund are now available to investors with investment minimums of $2,500 and $1 million, respectively.

The fund’s current prospectus, along with applications to purchase shares of the fund, may be found at http://www.jenseninvestment.com/. The Jensen Value Fund may also be purchased through mutual fund platforms including Charles Schwab OneSource, Fidelity FundsNetwork, TD Ameritrade, and Pershing.
