Job Seekers Aim for Positive Impact

August 29, 2001 ( - Many of today's job seekers have society's interests at heart, according to a recent poll.

When the latest Monster Meter from asked respondents the importance of taking a job that made a positive impact on society:

  • two-fifths of the poll said that, while their careers were the focus, helping others was a fringe benefit
  • a third of the group said it wasn’t important
  • 27% said that they wouldn’t take a job unless it benefited others.

The results are based on 7,177 votes cast by users from August 20 to August 26, 2001.
