Job Seekers Aim for Positive Impact

August 29, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Many of today's job seekers have society's interests at heart, according to a recent poll.

When the latest Monster Meter from Monster.com asked respondents the importance of taking a job that made a positive impact on society:

  • two-fifths of the poll said that, while their careers were the focus, helping others was a fringe benefit
  • a third of the group said it wasn’t important
  • 27% said that they wouldn’t take a job unless it benefited others.

The results are based on 7,177 votes cast by Monster.com users from August 20 to August 26, 2001.

The Monster Meter is an series of online polls that gauge users’ opinions on topics relating to careers, the economy, and the workplace.
