JPMAM Adds Member to Columbus Fixed Income Team
September 21, 2011 (PLANSPONOR.com) – Owais Rana has joined the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Columbus Fixed Income team and will head the company’s Liability Driven Investment (LDI) Solutions group.
Rana will serve as LDI’s lead client portfolio manager. As head of Liability Driven Investment Solutions, Rana will work to deliver strategies and solutions to current and prospective clients.
Previously, Rana was a senior banker in the U.S. and European Pension Advisory groups of the J.P. Morgan Investment Bank. As one of the founding members of the IB’s European team, he advised and implemented derivatives-based risk hedging solutions for corporate plans. Prior to that, Rana spent seven years as an investment consultant with Hewitt Associates in London where he provided investment advisory services to large UK pension clients. In 2001, he advised one of the first, high-profile UK plans to implement a liability-driven investment framework.
Rana holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also has a diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute and is a part qualified actuary with the UK Institute of Actuaries.
