Kiss-Up Coworkers Capture 'Most Annoying' Title

September 18, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A new online survey by the provider of a Web site listing hourly jobs found employees who neglect their duties and those constantly trying to curry favor with the boss share the dubious honor of being the most annoying coworkers.

A news release from SnagAJob.com said the “slacker” and the “kiss-up” each garnered about a third (32.6%) of the 7,000 votes cast.

The “gossip hound” came in third with 18.4% of votes followed by the “loud-talker” with 11.8%. Coming in last was the sickly “hypochondriac” with 4.6%.

“Work should be fun and, as this survey makes clear, it’s not fun being surrounded by Eddie Haskells and George Costanzas,” said Shawn Boyer, founder and chief executive officer of SnagAJob.com, in the release. “Either one can hurt your company’s culture and bring down morale.”
