October 4, 2001 ( - A new human resource information system released by KnowledgePoint offers small employers an affordable way to track personnel and benefits data and manage day-to-day human resources (HR) tasks.

The software, People Manager 3.0 is a desktop program that operates as a workflow manager, compiling daily “To-Do” lists of employee-related tasks, and reminding users of critical events like benefits eligibility dates.

People Manager also functions as a human resources expert, centralizing employee information, alerting users to the legal significance of employee management issues, and providing expert human resource advice.

The system also:

  • automatically calculates vacation, sick and personal time based on the accrual and leave schedules of different employee groups
  • tracks leaves of absence, jury duty and military leaves, charting each employee’s leave status with bar graphs
  • supports payroll services such as Paychex Paylink and ADP by calculating hours, exporting timekeeping data, calculating summaries of data adjustments.

People Manager 3.0 also has a data import and export capability, allowing for the importing of employee information and exporting of data for analysis and includes links to online tools, information and resources available on the Web.
