Lincoln Announces Investment Trusts Product Merger

June 11, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Lincoln National Corporation has announced the completed merger of the Lincoln Variable Insurance Product (LVIP) and Jefferson Pilot Variable Fund (JPVF) Trusts effective April 30, 2007.

A news release from the Philadelphia-based Lincoln said the new LVIP Trust offers a fund lineup of 31 proprietary funds, filling the majority of the asset classes in various style boxes with multiple choices of investment managers. This announcement comes on the heels of the one-year anniversary of the merger between Lincoln Financial Group and Jefferson Pilot, according to the announcement.

The Lincoln Trust is used in a variety of Lincoln products including variable universal life, ChoicePlus variable annuity, Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI), Multi-Fund (403b), Director and Lincoln American Legacy Retirement (401k).

The combined assets from the LVIP and the JPVF Trusts result in $12 billion for the new LVIP Trust, according to the announcement.
