Litzow to Head John Hancock Institutional Investment Business

November 22, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Hoping to increase its market share of institutional money managing, John Hancock Funds has named Senior Vice President John Litzow the new head of its institutional investment business.

Litzow, who also oversees John Hancock Funds’ Private Client Group, which provides separately managed accounts to high-net worth individuals, will take over responsibility of John Hancock Advisors immediately. The group, which handles institutional clients, offers investors fixed income strategies which include Core, Core Plus, Investment Grade, and International/Global mandates, as well as equity strategies that include core market and sector strategies.

Litzow joined John Hancock Funds ( www.jhfunds.com ) in 2002, coming from RBC Dain Rauscher of Minneapolis. He has also held positions at Fahnestock & Co., Schumaker, Romensko & Associates, and Merrill Lynch. He has a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University.
