Lord Abbett Launches International Dividend Income Fund

According to a Lord Abbett announcement, the fund is a dividend-focused, total return strategy that seeks to invest in international stocks with high and sustainable dividend yields, and below-average valuations. It is geared toward investors who believe a dividend orientation could deliver a total return that outperforms the market over time.

The International Dividend Income Fund utilizes a value investment philosophy to construct a portfolio of high- dividend-yielding international stocks, and will offer investors overseas market exposure, the announcement said. 

The portfolio management team will be led by Vincent McBride, Partner and Portfolio Manager, and Harold Sharon, Partner and Director of International Equity Investments. McBride said dividends paid by international companies historically have been higher than those paid by U.S. companies.
