A news release said Lowe assumes his new role from Arlene Rockefeller, who is retiring from SSgA after almost 30 years with the firm.
In his new position, Lowe will direct SSgA’s active and enhanced equity teams globally in the development and management of quantitative active and enhanced equity strategies. Lowe, who previously served as the CIO for Multi Asset Class Solutions, will report to global chief investment officer, Rick Lacaille. Dan Farley has been named global head of investments for Multi Asset Class Solutions replacing Lowe, the company said.
Lowe joined SSgA in 1996 and has also served as head of currency and as head of the Investor Solutions group which specializes in tax-efficient management and implementation of active equity strategies.
Farley has extensive investment experience and has been with SSgA for 18 years, most recently as head of the US Multi Asset Class Solutions team.
