MassMutual Appoints New Tax-Exempt, Consulting Practice Leaders

October 25, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - MassMutual has appointed a new managing director, tax-exempt practice leader and a new managing director, consultant practice leader for MassMutual Retirement Services.

In the newly created role of managing director, tax-exempt practice leader, M. Palmer Whitney will develop and serve the ERISA 403(b) retirement plan market that includes public hospitals, colleges and universities, and other non-profit organizations. According to a company press release, Whitney was previously employed by the Principal Financial Group where he most recently served as director of business development for tax-exempt organizations in the eastern United States.

Craig Haase has been appointed managing director, consultant practice leader for MassMutual Retirement Services, replacing Bill Noyes who was recently named managing director of institutional sales for the Retirement Services division. The announcement said Haase will develop and manage the company’s relationships with regional and national consulting organizations. He most recently headed product development for the Retirement Services division.
