Maurer, Perault Promoted to Head BlackRock Retirement Units
The pair of managing directors will now head defined contribution and defined benefit retirement divisions.
BlackRock Inc. has promoted Casie Maurer and Donald Perault to leadership positions in the firm’s U.S. retirement unit.
Perault was promoted to head of institutional defined benefit and defined contribution distribution, and Maurer was promoted to head of U.S. defined contribution, BlackRock confirmed.
Perault is tasked with enhancing coordination between the firm’s defined benefit and defined contribution distribution teams.
Perault has worked for BlackRock since 2004 and most recently served as managing director and head of the U.S. pensions business and head of the firm’s Boston office. Prior to his last role, he worked as managing director and deputy head of pensions.
Maurer last served as managing director, head of defined contribution strategy and platform. She has worked at BlackRock since 2013, and her previous roles include director of iShares institutional business development and marketing.
BlackRock also moved Carrie Schroen to its U.S. wealth advisory strategic accounts team from its U.S. defined contribution intermediary business and retirement insurance unit.
Schroen will remain responsible for defined contribution national accounts, led by BlackRock’s head of defined contribution strategic accounts, Tina Sanchez. Schroen has been at BlackRock since 2015. Her most recent roles include national sales manager and divisional director.
