Mellon Global Signs Hertfordshire

February 16, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Hertfordshire County Council in England has named ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services its global custodian for the county council's pension funds totaling some $1.95 billion.

ABN AMRO Mellon will be managing core custody, investment accounting and consolidated reporting for the fund.

A fund official, Jill Laycock, Hertfordshire County Council’s corporate accountancy group manager, said the fund decided to appoint a global custodian “in order to streamline administration and to enable us to take advantage of added-value services in the future,” such as stock lending and cash management.

ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services was formed in November 1998 to deliver an array of global custody services.
