Mercer Hires Global Leader of Clinical Services and Solutions

January 18, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - David Kaplan, MD, has joined Mercer’s health and benefits business as Global Leader of Clinical Services and Solutions, a new position.

He will be based in San Francisco and will be responsible for the development of clinically based solutions aimed at managing employers’ health- and absence-related expenses. He will work with Mercer’s clinicians around the globe to offer robust clinical solutions for multinational, regional and local clients.  

According to a press release, Kaplan joins Mercer from Towers Watson and predecessor firm Towers Perrin, where from 2005 to 2011 he led the care management practice and the custom care management service line.

Kaplan earned his M.D. from Rush Medical College and holds a B.A. from the Johns Hopkins University. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of San Francisco.
