Mercer, Marsh Team Up With BenefitPoint

March 30, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Benefits consultant William M. Mercer and sister firm Marsh will participate in BenefitPoint's Web-based health care and group benefits platform.

BenefitPoint’s Internet-based platform will support Mercer and Marsh in the management and exchange of client data and carrier information used in designing and purchasing employee benefit programs.  That connection is expected to streamline transactions for participating insurance carriers, brokers, consultants, and employers.

Tech, Ideas Transfer

Marsh will transfer proprietary technology to BenefitPoint for use by all its customers, while Mercer will contribute intellectual capital on benefit plan design and data analysis. Both companies will become shareholders of BenefitPoint.

BenefitPoint offers an Internet-based employee benefits infrastructure for the distribution and management of group insurance products.
