Meridian Compensation Partners Hires Christina Medland

June 27, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Independent consulting firm Meridian Compensation partners has announced that executive compensation expert Christina Medland will join the firm effective July 4, 2011.

Medland will be based in the firm’s Toronto office, according to a recent news release, and will consult with the management teams and boards at companies across Canada in areas such as performance alignment, incentive and equity plan design, executive comp disclosure/compliance, employment contracts, corporate governance, and other board-level issues.

Medland joins Meridian from Torys LLP, where she was a lawyer, partner and head of their executive compensation practice. She also has experience in pension and employment law, and executive compensation-related merger and acquisitions situations, including change-in-control and retention arrangements. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, and earned her JD from York University’s Osgood Hall Law School.

“We are thrilled that Chris has joined our strong team,” expressed Phil Yores, Meridian partner and senior consultant, in the announcement. “She is one of the most sought after executive compensation experts in Canada. Our clients will benefit greatly from her expertise, insights and experiences.”
