MetLife Adds Funeral Planning to Group Life Products

March 15, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – MetLife has announced that funeral planning resources are now provided with all of its Group Life and Accident insurance products.

The Funeral Planning Guide helps employees document important financial information as well as indicate their funeral preferences, thereby alleviating some of the stress family members may experience during a difficult situation, according to the announcement.  MetLife said the Funeral Planning Guide complements other features available through or with its Group Life portfolio, such as face-to-face access to a lawyer for will preparation and estate resolution services; Delivering the Promise support program for beneficiaries; travel assistance; and identity theft solutions.

“MetLife’s Funeral Planning is designed to provide employees with peace of mind now as well as help ensure the future peace of mind of their families.  Added to products and services MetLife already offers, the Funeral Planning Guide can help employers maximize the value of their group life programs by meeting the changing needs of employees throughout their lifetimes,” said Graham Cox, vice president, Group Life Products, MetLife, in the announcement.

The Funeral Planning Guide can be accessed though MyBenefits, MetLife’s online employee benefits portal, or at www.metlife.com/funeralplanningguide.
