MetLife Offering Adds Financial Guidance to Benefits Package

April 18, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - MetLife announced the launch of its enhanced MetLife Advice program which includes no-cost, add-on components allowing employers to provide financial guidance to employees in conjunction with their existing benefits package from MetLife.

MetLife Advice can be customized to address the administrative needs of employers and their human resources/benefits staff as well as the financial objectives of each employee and his/her family at every life stage. According to the announcement, the enhancements provide employees not only the products to help build their financial future, but also the education and recommendations to prepare for it.

Paul Michael, vice president, MetLife Advice, said in the announcement, “…now, with the enhancements to the program, employers can offer their employees the education and professional assistance they need to understand and appreciate their employer sponsored benefit plans and ultimately to help meet their financial goals.”

Enhancements include:

  • MetLife Advice for Employees – Transition Solutions: for the employee, helps the employee make time sensitive, informed benefit and financial decisions when experiencing benefit changes; for the employer, helps alleviate administrative burdens associated with the effects of large-scale change as well as day-to-day turnover. Financial Education: focuses on the employee and provides guidance and advice to help them make informed benefit and financial decisions using an educational approach including complimentary workshops in the workplace.
  • MetLife Advice for Beneficiaries – MetLife’s survivor assistance program, Delivering The Promise, provides personal assistance and specialized services to employees’ beneficiaries. A trained Delivering The Promise Specialist helps beneficiaries foresee and resolve many of the issues they may face during a difficult time.
  • MetLife Advice for Executives – This program helps employers attract and retain key employees by offering financial education, financial planning, and access to financial protection and asset accumulation solutions.
