MFC Names Head of U.S. Product Management

October 27, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - MFC Global Investment Management, the asset management division of Manulife Financial, has named Jeffrey Santerre, CAIA, as head of product management in the U.S.

According to a company announcement, Santerre is a Managing Director based in Boston and reports to Frank Saeli, Managing Director and head of U.S. institutional sales and relationship management.

“As part of our global product management team, Jeff is responsible for developing and implementing our suite of investment strategies for distribution in the United States,” said Saeli, in the announcement. “Jeff is as a member of our Global Product Committee, chaired by Stephen Kangas, and is also working in consultation with our portfolio management, sales and marketing teams with the goal of optimizing our total product positioning in the U.S. marketplace.”

Prior to joining MFC Global Investment Management, Santerre was a vice president on the global product development team of State Street Global Advisors. He also spent eight years at Putnam Investments, primarily in the product management area, where he assisted in the development of portable alpha, absolute return, and global balanced strategies as a member of that firm’s global asset allocation team. Santerre also spent more than two years in Putnam’s London office with global and international equity product management responsibilities.

He holds NASD Series 7 and 63 licenses and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
