MFS Investment Management Hires SECURE 2.0 Expert as Retirement Strategist

Industry research veteran Jeri Savage, previously at Goldman Sachs, joins to lead defined contribution plan efforts.

MFS Investment Management has hired Jeri Savage as a retirement lead strategist, the company announced in a press release.

Savage is responsible for driving MFS’ defined contribution thought leadership, addressing retirement industry trends, best practices, and regulatory and legislative developments, according to the firm. She reports to Jonathan Barry, managing director of the investment solutions group, according to a spokesperson.

Savage was hired to work with employers to help them understand effects of the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022, a package of legislative retirement reforms passed by Congress in December, stated Barry in a press release.

“We look forward to Jeri’s added perspective as we help clients understand the implications of the recently enacted Secure Act 2.0,” Barry stated. “We’re thrilled that Jeri is joining our team. She brings decades of experience researching and monitoring developments in the defined contribution space, and her consulting expertise will be a great asset to our clients.”

Savage has more than 20 years of experience in research and analytical roles with investment and consulting firms.

Prior to joining Boston-based MFS, Savage was the head of defined contribution research for multi-asset solutions at Goldman Sachs, which purchased her previous company, Rocaton Investment Advisors, in 2019. Savage had risen from director to principal at Rocaton.
