Monster Meter Registers Worker Worry

June 20, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Nearly a third of respondents think they could be "the next to go" at their place of work, according to the latest Monster.com online poll.

The monthly poll results were released even as the online recruiter announced plans to share job listings with the Labor Department to help workers compete in the New Economy.

Monster.com was the top career site on the Internet in May, drawing 5.7 million unique visitors, according to Jupiter Media Metrix. Jobsonline.com was No. 2 last month, with 4.5 million unique visitors.

High Anxiety

The “Monster Meter” also found that 40% of survey respondents have some level of concern about job security ? which might explain why they were on the recruiting site in the first place.

However, 8% said they were “indispensable.”

Maybe they were the ones hiring.
