MSCI Hedge Fund Index Up in November

December 17, 2002 ( - Preliminary hedge fund performance data from the MSCI Hedge Fund Indices shows that early reporting funds were up 1.2% in November - a performance that would bring year-to-date figures to 2.6%.

According to an MSCI announcement, 62.8% of the funds reported their results early.

Meanwhile, the MSCI World Equity Index jumped by 5.3% in November bringing its year-to-date to a 16.9% loss. Meanwhile, the MSCI World Sovereign Debt Index increased by 0.1% in November or 13.9% year to date.

The performance of the MSCI Hedge Fund Composite Index, an equal weighted index, is comprised of five Process Group indices.

According to the announcement, the MSCI Hedge Fund Indices include more than 160 indices with more than 1,600 hedge funds currently in the database.
