NCEO Provides Model ESOP to Guide Plan Creation
November 16, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The National
Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) is offering a
publication that includes a model employee stock ownership
plan (ESOP) document to aid employers in developing their own
ESOP.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
The model plan document, composed by attorney and ESOP expert Karen Ng, includes alternate provisions and a detailed, step-by-step explanation and commentary. A CD with documents in word processing format is also included.
The NCEO points out that the document is not a prototype for employers to adapt to their own situation and submit to the Internal Revenue Service for qualification.
