Neuberger Berman Bets on Real Estate

May 1, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Neuberger Berman Inc. launched the Neuberger Berman Real Estate Fund, a mutual fund that seeks capital growth and current income by investing in real estate securities.

According to a press release from the company, the new fund will invest a minimum of 80% of its assets in equity securities issued by real estate investment trusts (REITs) and common stocks and other securities issued by real estate companies.

Stocks will be selected on the basis of risk-adjusted total return potential over a 12 to 24 month period, Neuberger announced.

Neuberger Berman Inc. through its subsidiaries is an investment advisory company with $61.9 billion in assets under management.
