New Employee Benefit Partnership to Help US, UK Firms

July 15, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Multi-national companies with operations in both the United States and the United Kingdom might consider taking advantage of a new partnership to help employers navigate both countries' health insurance systems.

According to a news release, Benemax, a Medfield, Massachusetts employee benefit management firm, is working with Leagold Miller, a UK employee benefits brokerage, in the new venture. The two firms will help set up health insurance and other benefits. Leagold Miller is expected to work with US firms while Benemax will focus on the US subsidiaries of UK parent companies, the statement said

The press release said British firms used to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) might be unsure of how to deal with the US system while American employers might not be certain about how private medical coverage fits into NHS coverage.
