The calculator factors in more than 70 variables, including industry, experience, education and geographic location, to come up with salary levels within the industry, which are updated monthly with consumer price index adjustments.
Results, which include a range of values, in addition to the median, are based on data from the 2001 IEEE-USA Salary & Fringe Benefit Survey, which comprises the responses of almost 10,000 participants.
