Newport Taps Two as Regional Sales Chiefs

November 4, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Newport Group announced that it has appointed Kris Krikorian and David Semmler as Regional Directors, reporting to Newport's Chief Marketing Officer Tom Pittman.

A Newport news release said Krikorian will cover the Southwest U.S. from his base in Los Angeles. Before joining Newport, he was Associate Vice President with Wachovia Securities and led a team of 401(k) plan advisers that worked with wholesalers to deliver retirement products to plan sponsors.

“ Kris has experience in both retirement plan administration and wholesaling, “ Pittman said in the news release. “ His work with a large team of financial advisers also gives him insight into the needs of advisers who market Newport ‘ s services. “

Meanwhile, Semmler will be based in Denver and cover Newport ‘ s North Central and Northwest regions. Most recently, he was Vice President and Regional Sales Manager at Matrix Financial Solutions.

“ Dave ‘ s extensive relationships with financial institutions, third party administrators and retirement plan and trust advisers will allow Newport to strengthen its footprint in the Pacific Northwest, “ Pittman said.
