Online Tool for Comparison Shopping of CDHPs Launched

January 25, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Healthia has launched an online comparison shopping tool that allows small and mid-size employers to research and select health insurance plans, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and doctors from across the country.

In its announcement, Healthia says the set-up fee is eliminated for customers who sign up for a health insurance plan on the site.

The Healthia site allows businesses to compare health plans by filling in a few fields such as company zip code, number of employees, average employee age and the desired amount of deductible.   The site recommends plans in the employer’s geographic area, and provides cost information via email.

The site also allows selection of doctors based on geography, specialty, average length of experience and whether they are board-certified or not, according to the announcement.   Healthia’s site allows users to combine information about doctors with the list of plans covering those doctors.

This integration of all critical health care buying information will ultimately be extended to cover the entire spectrum of health care decision-making: doctors, hospitals, prescriptions, health care plans, procedures and savings vehicles like HSAs, Healthia said.

The shopping tool can be accessed at www.healthia.com .
