Oristaglio Named Head of Putnam's Investments Department

July 8, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Steve Oristaglio has been tapped to head Putnam Investments' investments department solo.

Previously, Oristaglio was deputy head of investments prior to joining Putnam’s chief executive Ed Haldeman in running the department. Kevin Cronin, managing director and chief investment officer for fixed income will be Oristaglio’s deputy, Reuters is reporting.

Haldeman said he will remain involved in the firm’s investment strategies.

“Our shared goal of delivering consistent, dependable and superior performance over time across all investment portfolios remains the number one priority and I will be actively involved in our achieving that outcome,” Haldeman said in a statement.

Oristaglio has been with Putnam Investments since 1998.
