Oswald Joins Ford as HR Exec

March 22, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Kathleen Oswald, 51, the auto industry's highest-ranking woman before resigning last November from DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler division, has joined Ford as executive director, Human Resources Customer Operations.

Oswald will oversee Ford’s education and training, global recruiting, personnel relations, diversity and worklife planning, employee call centers, HR information and technology systems, employee vehicle programs, and security and fire operations. She starts Monday.

Oswald had been in charge of employee relations, government affairs and executive development for DaimlerChrysler in North America, and headed global human resources. She had been at DaimlerChrysler and Chrysler in HR positions throughout her 29-year career.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management and a master of personnel management from Central Michigan University.

Oswald is chairperson of Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan and a member of the board of directors of Detroit Zoological Society and Michigan Virtual University.
