Prescription Drug Program Rolled Out

October 28, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - PMA Insurance Group has partnered with PMSI, a subsidiary of AmeriSource Bergen, to develop a new on-line pharmacy benefits management program.

The new program, solely dedicated to workers’ compensation, will utilize PMSI’s retail pharmacy network Tmesys, designed to control prescription drug cost through directly contacting its own network of 50,000 pharmacies. 

Additionally, Tmesys’ electronic eligibility verification will eliminate the need for its participants to carry prescription cards. 

PMA currently offers Preferred Provider Networks, two-tier Medical Case Management and Medical Bill review.   This new program will be offered in conjunction with these existing products for medical cost containment.
