Pru Offers Palm-based Account Changes for Participants

March 26, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Participants now have the ability to make interfund transfers, change contribution allocations and rebalance their accounts in the palm of their hands.

Prudential Retirement Services has upgraded the capabilities of its wireless account access for 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans, to allow those activities via a variety of Palm products, including Palm VIIx, Palm III, Palm V and Palm m100 handhelds.

Prudential claims to be the first in the nation to offer that level of transaction execution, according to the press release.  They began offering wireless access to 401(k), 403(b) and 457 retirement plan information for users of the Palm VII in 1999.

The new transaction functionality will not require existing users to download new applications onto their Palm handhelds.  However, new clients can download the most up-to-date application at www.prudential.com/palmdownload .

Prudential currently manages more than $61 billion in defined contribution and guaranteed product assets for more than one million plan participants.
