Pru Unveils Web Participant Portal

June 2, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Prudential Retirement has launched Signature Online, a Web-based education center that brings together the resources of Prudential and the CIGNA retirement business acquired in 2004.

The online center is available to all Prudential Retirement clients and their participants and is structured to help participants effectively grow and manage their retirement accounts, Prudential said in a news release.

“With Signature Online, plan participants receive valuable, practical information on a wide range of important topics, including retirement planning, investment management, tax- and estate-planning, and college savings,” said Phil Waldeck, senior vice president of Products & Advisory Services, Prudential Retirement, in the news release. “Even more important – and consistent with our overall approach to education and communication – all the information can be tailored to each participant’s distinct set of financial circumstances and needs.”

According to Prudential, Signature Online features:

  • educational articles on current financial trends and strategies, focusing on topics of particular importance to effective retirement planning
  • interactive online courses including those on asset allocation techniques, estate planning, and college funding
  • financial calculators to help estimate the retirement income participants will need
  • frequently asked questions to help participants understand the fundamentals of, and issues related to, effective retirement planning.

In addition, the Signature Online center provides information on such retirement-related topics as improving credit, minimizing taxes, and choosing retirement vehicles outside the workplace, including Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), the announcement said.
