Prudential Strengthens Government Market Efforts

January 29, 2013 (PLANSPONSOR.com) Prudential Retirement welcomed back John Byrne and Bryan Hissong to develop new business and help expand its presence in the government market.

Byrne has been appointed vice president of Institutional Retirement Plans. Hissong has been named vice president, regional sales director. He will be responsible for the new business development and client relations for the South Region.   

Byrne is now responsible for the development and sales of large tax-exempt, Taft Hartley and corporate defined contribution (DC) and defined benefit (DB) markets. Hissong will ensure the retirement plan products and services offered by Prudential Retirement are flexible and customized to meet the needs of the client and plan participants.  

Byrne returns to Prudential Retirement from Lincoln Financial Group, where he was vice president of Institutional Retirement Plans. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University. He holds a series 6, 26 and 63, as well as both Life and Variable State insurance licenses and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation and Charted Life Underwriter (CLU) designation.  

Hissong also returns to Prudential Retirement from Lincoln Financial Group. He has a B.S. degree in Public Relations from Kansas State University and holds Series 6, 63 and Life and Health licenses.
