Prudential Unveils Retirement Timing Resources

June 23, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – The Prudential Foundation has funded an hour-long television program and set up a Web site as part of an initiative to help Americans decide the best time to retire. 

A news release said NJN Public Television will broadcast the show Ready to Retire? June 27 at 4 PM. The full program can also be viewed on-demand at www.njn.net/television/specials/readytoretire.  Ready to Retire?” focuses on the challenges that pre-retirees face, as told through the stories of individuals at the crossroads of their retirement years.  

The Web site features video vignettes of personal stories, retirement calculators, and useful links to resources on various topics, including basic retirement preparation, addressing shortfalls in retirement, and generating income in retirement.  The site is at www.prudentialfoundation.org/readytoretire . 

“Retirement planning is one of the most important issues facing Americans today,” said Gabriella Morris, president of The Prudential Foundation, in the news release. “The Ready to Retire? program provides insight into some of the common questions people have about achieving and maintaining financial security so they can lead independent and self-sufficient lives during their retirement years.”
