Putnam Enhances Disclosures, Reduces Fees for 529 Plan

May 3, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Putnam Investments has unveiled an initiative to provide expanded information and reduced fees for the Putnam CollegeAdvantage 529 plan.

Putnam will enhance the disclosure in itsCollegeAdvantage 529 offering statement to include simplified language,tables and charts that clearly identify fees and expenses paid byshareholders, including the impact these fees have on a $1,000 investment, according to a news release.

In addition, Putnam is reducing the annual maintenance fee on the 529 program from $25 to $15. Not affected by the announcement is the waiver of annual maintenance fee for Ohio residents and non-Ohio residents with aggregate account balances of $25,000 or more, investors making systematic investments of $50 or more, and certain corporate plans.

The new initiatives go into effect May 24 th .

The Putnam CollegeAdvantage Program is a subset of the overall CollegeAdvantage 529 Savings Plan offering Putnam Investment Options exclusively through financial intermediaries. The Plan has been established and is maintained by the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority.
