San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association appoints new deputy CIO; Northern Trust Wealth Management adds head of global sales.
SBCERA Names Deputy CIO Amid Leadership Transition
The San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association promoted Senior Investment Officer Thomas Kim to the newly established position of deputy chief investment officer. The move comes as current CIO Donald Pierce prepares to retire later this year after a 25-year tenure at the $16 billion public pension fund.
The deputy CIO role is designed to support long-term leadership and ensure a smooth succession for SBCERA’s investment program, according to the announcement.
Kim, who joined SBCERA in 2020 and was promoted to senior investment officer in 2023, will work closely with Pierce and the investment team to maintain continuity in investment operations and strategy.
Northern Trust Wealth Management Appoints Global Head of Sales
Northern Trust Wealth Management named David Albright as global head of sales. Albright will lead client development strategy, sales execution and strategic partnerships, reporting to Wealth Management President Jason Tyler.
Albright steps into the position during a period of sustained growth for Northern Trust Wealth Management, as the business expands within key segments and deepens its investment and advisory capabilities. In the announcement, Tyler highlighted Albright’s institutional knowledge and execution-focused mindset as key assets for the firm’s continued momentum.
Previously, Albright led client development for global family and private investment offices and later co-led business activity in the Eastern U.S.
