Russell to Announce Membership in Indexes in June
April 4, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Russell Investment
Group has announced it will start its annual reconstitution
of its U.S. and global indexes with a revelation about
probable additions and deletions on June 11.
Reported by Fred Schneyer
Final membership will go into effect on June 22, according to a Reuters news report.
In one change announced in December, companies incorporated outside the United States for tax, political or other reasons, but that function primarily like a U.S. company, will be eligible for inclusion in the U.S. stock indexes, Reuters reported.
Russell, whose best known index is the Russell 2000, an index of small-cap U.S. stocks, earlier this year launched a family of global stock indexes.
Russell said it will be posting information about the reconstitution on its Web site http://www.russell.com/News/Press_Releases/PR_Recon040307.asp .
