According to a press release, Savage will focus particularly on the newly enhanced iteration of Pathfinder, a defined contribution plan benchmarking and search solution, pioneered by PLANSPONSOR, an Asset International company. The Pathfinder database enables plan sponsors and their advisers to make informed decisions on investment management, service providers and total plan expenses.
“I am excited to join the Pathfinder team. The intensifying scrutiny of DC plans and the challenging market have increased the importance of plan advisers as well as the complexity of their DC plan selection process. Today, qualified plan sponsors and their advisers need to be even more discerning as to the vendors they use and the prices they pay,” said Savage.
Savage possesses more than 15 years of qualified plan experience, and a decade of business development focus, working both with advisers and plan sponsors. Prior to joining Asset International, he was a sales specialist at Thomson Reuters. Before that he was a Sales Consultant at Diversified Investment Advisors, and prior to that he was a Retirement Marketing Consultant at John Hancock Funds. In his new role, Savage reports to Rita Leytush, Strategic Insight’s Senior Managing Director.
“Matt brings extensive expertise to help DC advisers. Matt joins Strategic Insight at a time of significant challenges to the DC plan marketplace,” Leytush said. “His knowledge of and experience in the retirement industry should prove valuable, leveraging Strategic Insight’s more than two decades of helping the mutual fund industry through unique synergy of specialized databases, in-depth studies, on-demand research and consulting services,” she added.
An Asset International affiliate, Strategic Insight is a provider of research, data and analytics to asset managers worldwide.
