Segal Acquires Aon’s Multiemployer DB Business

October 12, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – The Segal Company has acquired Aon Consulting’s multiemployer defined benefit plan and related consulting business in the United States, Segal announced.

This acquisition covers about 60 defined benefit plans in a wide variety of industries across the country, according to the announcement.

John Gingell, Senior Vice President and Segal’s Midwest Regional Manager, said Segal has added two former Aon employees to handle some of the acquired business and opened a Detroit-area office where some of the new plans are located.

According to the announcement, the new hires include Samuel Stanley, Senior Vice President and Senior Consultant, and Paul Duling, Associate Actuary, Midwest Multiemployer Retirement Practice.
