SEI Hires Three for Liability Focused Offering

March 8, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - SEI has recently hired three senior-level experts in Liability Driven Investing (LDI), corporate finance, and risk management.

The company said the new additions are in direct response to an expanding demand for its fiduciary management offering where SEI exercises investment discretion on behalf of pension clients. According to a press release, the increased delegation of discretion by clients to SEI comes at a time when pension plans have a greater emphasis on implementing effective liability-focused investment strategies and the new hires will support those efforts.

Randy Cusick serves as Director, Institutional Advice and is working with SEI’s corporate pension plan clients in the development of customized LDI strategies. Nancy Nakovick serves as Director, Global LDI Strategy Implementation and is responsible for the development and execution of derivative and overlay strategies on behalf of SEI’s pension clients. Thomas Harvey serves as Director, Institutional Advice and is responsible for delivering strategic advice around how clients can best control pension related balance sheet or expense volatility.

Cusick has almost 30 years of experience building risk mitigated pension portfolios. Prior to joining SEI, he spent 11 years as a principal with Towers Watson where he helped build out the organization’s pension risk management practices. Additionally, he spent 17 years in senior corporate finance and accounting roles for Emerson Electric Co. and Sun Distributors, MLP, including oversight of the retirement plans.

Nakovick has over 27 years of investment experience and has held senior positions for a variety of investment banks including Citigroup, Société Générale, Bear Stearns and Goldman Sachs. Previously, she spent five years as chief investment officer for Texaco, overseeing the company’s domestic and foreign pension plans, and four years as pension manager for Verizon.

Harvey has over 26 years of experience in designing customized strategies to help companies meet their financial objectives. He has held senior corporate advisory and investment banking positions for Wachovia Securities and First Union Securities. Previously, he had spent 14 years working in senior corporate finance positions, including eight years with Consolidated Rail Corporation.
