Self Named ITRS CIO

November 5, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Charles H. Self III has been named chief investment officer of the $23 billion Illinois Teachers? Retirement System, effective December 1.

Self was formerly the senior vice president and director of the investment portfolio department of ABN AMRO North America of Chicago.

Prior to that he was vice president, fixed income portfolio manager for CSI Asset Management of Chicago, vice president and portfolio manager with Meridian Asset Advisors, Indianapolis, and an investment officer with The Northern Trust Company.

Self has an MBA in finance and statistics from the University of Chicago and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BSB in accounting. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Investment Counselor credentials.

TRS is the retirement system for public school teachers and administrators employed in all schools except the city of Chicago, covering over 250,000 active and retired educators.
