SF Stripper Bare All for More Bucks

January 31, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Strippers at the unionized Lusty Lady strip club in San Francisco will be a little richer when they take it all off from now on.

A two-year contract ratified by strippers at the nation’s only unionized gentleman’s club raises the workers’ pay $3 per hour and ups their sick pay to 1.5 days, according to an Associated Press report. The strippers had picketed outside the club in December after management balked at bringing the dancers’ pay back to a top $27 per hour scale.

The agreement adds $2 per shift in the first year and $4 per shift in the second year for dancers’ prep time to do their hair and makeup. It also lowers a hiring cap, to ensure there are enough shifts to go around.

Declared Natasha, a Lusty Lady worker and union negotiator who only uses one name: “We were pretty successful.”

The strippers belong to the Exotic Dancers Union, a chapter of the Service Employees International Union, Local 790.
